Low Buy Challenge – weeks 4 and 5

Finally back to playing and reviewing!! I had to take a few weeks off due to an eye infection that would. not. go. away!!

So let’s start with week 4. The palette of the week was “Sarah’s Creation”. Basically a compilation of single shadows I put in to a magnetic palette I purchased off of Amazon. You can see the looks I posted here – Look 1, look 2, look 3. I decided not to post an in depth review about week 4 since the singles from Colourpop and Sephora are no longer available and they make up the majority of the “palette”. The colors are very common, however, so similar looks can be achieved using other palettes, such as the Urban Decay Naked Heat, Too Faced Sweet Peach, and even Some Wet n Wild Palettes that dupe these higher end palettes.

So let’s move on to week 5. The palette of the week was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam palette.

The ABH Soft Glam is a warm neutral palette containing 8 mattes (Orange Soda, Mulberry, Dusty Rose, Burnt Orange, Sienna, Rustic, Cyprus Umber, Noir), 5 shimmers (Glistening, Rose Pink, Sulty, Bronze, Fairy), and 1 satin (Tempera). The price of this palette is $42 USD. Sephora is about to have a sale where you can get either 20% (Rouge – April 26-May 6, 2019) 15% (VIB – May 2 – May 6, 2019) or 10% (Beauty Insider – May 2 – May 6, 2019) off of your purchase. This would be a good time to pick up this palette if you are interested. 🙂

Here are the looks I completed with this palette – looks 1 and 2, look 3 — P.S. while you’re there why not start following my Instagram page? 😉 🙂 I haven’t really been reaching for this palette since it is a neutral palette and I think I’ve said before that my jam is really colorful eye looks. It’s just the phase I am in right now. But I will say, I love this palette. It is a gorgeous warm neutral palette and it gives me the drama I am looking for when I do want to wear neutrals. I can complete an all matte look, a dramatic smokey eye, a simple 2 shade look, or utilize multiple colors in a more complex eye look. The colors are saturated, easy to blend, and don’t muddy up on my eyes or make me look like I am bruised. I really like all of the shades in this palette which is not something I can often say. Typically there are a few shades in any given palette that don’t excite me all that much and I don’t use, but I really do enjoy all of the shades in this palette.

Overall thoughts, this palette will definitely be staying in my collection and I know this one will get a lot of love when I am in a neutral eye look phase!

How about you? Do you have this palette? Or do you plan to pick it up? Let me know in the comments on my Instagram page!
