Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette review

I was debating on whether or not to review this palette since there are so many reviews out there and the palette has been out for a little while now… but I love this palette and really just wanted to talk about it.

The UD Naked Cherry palette has 12 shadows in their typical rectangular pan. The palette comes with a dual ended brush, a small round smudger brush on one side and a fluffy blending brush on the other. Personally, I love this brush! I use it all the time.

This range of colors is my jam. I LOVE ruby/burgundy/maroon/black cherry… it’s my absolute favorite color(s) in everything – makeup, clothing, nail polish, cars, etc… When I saw this palette was launching, I didn’t just do a double take, I stared at it and knew I had to have it. The palette costs $49 and I ordered mine from the UD website the day it launched – you can become a UD Beauty Junkie and start earning rewards which will give you $ credits towards UD products. The palette is also available at Sephora and Ulta – both of which if you wanted to save some $ you’d have to wait for their special promos or use your Ulta rewards points on it. I have to be honest, I am surprised it was $49 considering the other full size Naked Palettes are $54. Not sure what’s up, but I am not complaining!!

Anyway, I find this palette to be the right pigmentation, not too pigmented and not lacking pigment. I have heard people saying it is just like the UD Naked Heat formula and I somewhat agree when it comes to the mattes, but not the shimmers. I find the shimmers in the UD Naked Cherry to apply much better on my eyes then the UD Naked Heat shimmers do.

I use a primer on my eyes, always. I have very oily eyelids – which is so weird because I have crazy dry skin. I do find with the shade “drunk dial”  if I am using it all over my lid for a smokey eye look, it will crease if I only put it over top of primer. I have to use a shadow stick (I use a shadow stick from Essence, which I love!!) on top of my primer and then put drunk dial on top of the shadow stick. It lasts all day that way for me.

Other than the creasing with the shade Drunk Dial, I find these shadows don’t fade, crease, or really budge all day. I find that the colors blend nicely on my eyes and, for me, they do not blend away or run together and become a muddy mess. If I had to critique something, I think it would be that the shade “feelz” isn’t as mauve on my eyes as I thought it would be. It pulls a much more warm pinky mauve on me. I tend to mix the shades feelz and caution when I don’t want it to be so warm.

The UD Naked Cherry palette is a palette I’ve had a hard time not using. I have had to force myself to use my other palettes and do other eyeshadow looks – which is saying something, because I love mixing up my eye looks!

I think it is safe to say this is my favorite UD Naked palette!

How about you? Have you purchased this palette? Are you on the fence with purchasing it? If you have purchased it, what do you think of it? Does it work for you? I’d love to know!

Oh my goodness I love so many things about this. Palatte, UD, primer (other than what goes on a wall)… wow what a world you will teach me about. Can’t wait to read all the goodness you share. PS… I do hear Him. He calls me by name, knows my heart and my pain. He’s an amazing King and I couldn’t imagine doing life alone.
